Textured Upholstery Velvet - Canyon - Ainslie Collection
Here are some sewing tips from our professional velvet experts:
- Before cutting and stitching your velvet, decide which way your pile is facing and stick with it.
- Test on a scrap piece first—you may want to adjust presser foot tension and use a longer stitch
- Cutting on the wrong (reverse) side will ensure accurate markings.
- Velvet is slick: cutting in one layer (with a rotary cutter!) and using a walking foot will prevent slipping; hand basting your seam lines will prevent creeping.
